Naxalite fighters executed a company commander of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh state. The CoBRA battalions are the elite anti-guerrilla units of the CRPF paramilitaries. Major Tijau Ram Bhuarya, was stationed at the 4th Battalion in the Darbha area. A detachment of the CRPF was guarding the market when a group of Naxalites, dressed in civilian clothes, stabbed him to death.
