The ELN has announced the freezing of peace talks and an “open crisis” with the government, denouncing violations of the rules agreed as part of the negotiations launched in 2022.
The ELN accuses the Bogotá authorities of not respecting the rules agreed at the start of the talks, which are currently taking place in Cuba, including the establishment of a dialogue with the governor of the southwestern department of Narino in parallel with the ongoing talks.
Last week, however, the ELN had given a token of goodwill by suspending an armed strike it had called in the west of the country to denounce the complacency of the public forces with paramilitary groups.
