The Jenin Brigade of Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, mourned three Resistance fighters: Ahmad Barakat, Mahmoud Rahal, and Mohammad al-Fayed, who were targeted by a missile from a Zionist drone strike earlier today.
The occupation Channel 13 reported that the Zionist army assassinated Palestinian fighters in Jenin with a drone strike, allegedly while they were heading to carry out an attack.
Following the assassination, Palestinians took to the streets to express anger, vowing to retaliate.
The effects of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7 and the genocide in Gaza have unsurprisingly extended into the occupied West Bank. Despite the region’s longstanding instability following the expansion of illegal settlement, the recent aggression in Gaza has exacerbated the situation.
With the Zionist entity conducting military operations, raids, mass arrests, thefts, and assassinations, tensions are escalating, leading many to anticipate a boiling point during the holy month of Ramadan.
Palestinian mourners and Resistance fighters clash with PA comprador police
Twenty people were wounded by the PA security forces, including one with a serious head injury.
The traitorous Palestinian Authority opened fire on the friends and families of the martyred resistance fighters (Mohammed Al-Fayed, Ahmed Barakat, and Mahmoud Al-Rahal) during their funeral as they passed by the PA headquarters to demand the PA release the martyrs’ friends—political prisoners—for a final farewell.
This incident is not the first of its kind. It occurs precisely at times when unity against the common enemy, the occupier, is most needed. In the last year, seven martyrs, including children, have ascended to martyrdom as a result of the PA’s bullets of treachery, often at funerals mourning martyrs.
Once again, the traitorous Palestinian Authority proves itself to be nothing but a tool of the occupation, betraying its own people and “participating in our genocide,” in the words of martyr Basil Al-Araj.
