Palestinian Resistance Accepts Security Council Resolution; Rains Missiles Down on Settlements

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) welcomed the United Nations Security Council’s call today for an immediate ceasefire, in statements released on Monday.

“We stress the necessity of reaching a permanent ceasefire that leads to the withdrawal of all Zionist forces from the Gaza Strip and the return of the displaced [Palestinians] to the homes they were forced out of,” the movement emphasized.

“We also affirm our readiness to engage in an immediate prisoner exchange process that leads to the release of both sides’ detainees and captives,” Hamas said.

“We call on the Security Council to pressure the occupation to adhere to the ceasefire and stop the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing against our people,” the Resistance movement affirmed.

Hamas reiterated the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital. It also underlined the Palestinian people’s right to return to their homeland and their right to self-determination.

The Islamic Resistance Movement underlined the need to protect the freedom of movement for all Palestinians, as well as the movement of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, including heavy equipment to be used for rescue and recovery missions for thousands who remain under the rubble created by US bombs.

Hamas also expressed its gratitude for the efforts of Algeria and all other members of the UNSC who stood by the Palestinian people and worked on stopping the aggression on Gaza.

The PFLP stated they believe an “immediate ceasefire must be a step towards a sustainable cessation of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, an unconditional breaking of the siege, the return of all displaced persons to their homes from which they were displaced, and the conclusion of a prisoner exchange deal through which our prisoners from the occupation’s jails are freed.”

The Front recognized the cynicism from the Americans and  that the resolution actually “confirms that the entire world is fed up with the zionist entity for the genocide it commits against our people in the Strip, and that the American administration could not bear the consequences of voting for another veto after the escalation of public outrage at the US administration’s positions on the aggression.”

The PFLP also acknowledged that implementing the resolution will be extremely difficult “especially since the occupation has not implemented a single international resolution throughout its history.”

Resistance continues unabated

The al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, announced on Monday that an occupation force had withdrawn from the outskirts of the al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City after targeting it with mortar shells.

In separate statements, the Resistance group revealed several operations it had carried out throughout the day.

A Merkava tank near Al-Shifa Hospital was targeted with an al-Yassin 105 shell by Resistance fighters, leading to its complete destruction, one statement read. Another Merkava tank was also targeted by an al-Yassin 105 in the west of the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City.

After over 170 days into the war, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine (PIJ), claimed responsibility for the rocket barrage that targeted the settlements of “Ashkelon” and “Sderot” in Gaza’s envelope, stressing that this comes in response to the ongoing massacres against the people of Gaza.

The Resistance faction also announced conducting several operations against occupation forces in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, including one targeting an Israeli unit stationed at the hospital’s main gate.

In a joint operation with the Omar al-Qassam Brigades, the Resistance fighters targeted a gathering of enemy soldiers west of Gaza City.

The al-Quds Brigades carried out another joint attack with Resistance fighters from al-Aqsa Brigades, during which Israeli vehicles and soldiers gathered south of Al-Shifa Hospital were targeted.

For its part, Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade announced that over the last 48 hours they had 24 combat operations against the occupation. Particularly in Khan Younis and west of Gaza City. They announced confirmed casualties in their operations.

No signs of ending the Resistance

As the Resistance has shown no signs of heeding whether within Gaza or against envelope settlements, Zionist news outlet Walla! waned on Saturday that the occupation forces find themselves uncertain and without a clear strategy for the Strip as they remain mired in there for the fifth consecutive month.

The Hamas Resistance movement is actively rebuilding its capabilities in areas recently vacated by the occupation forces, the outlet underlined, highlighting that the entity had no control over this issue.

In a Sunday report, ‘Israeli’ Channel 12‘s military correspondent, Nir Dvori, revealed that the occupation military lost around 600 occupation troops, alongside 3,000 injuries, a number not observed for decades.

Analysts argue against pursuing an invasion of Rafah, asserting that any gains made would be negligible compared to the strategic significance of Khan Younis, where Hamas maintains a stronghold.

Furthermore, despite the appalling atrocities committed by occupation forces in Gaza, especially those at Al-Shifa complex, the resistance is still fine and able to reshape its ranks, a source within the Resistance stated.

The source didn’t underestimate the implications of the brutal Zionist raid on the medical complex which lies west of Gaza City. However, he stressed that the Resistance has dealt with the current situation and was able to reshape its ranks.

“Nobody should underestimate the size of the infiltration carried out by the enemy army at Al-Shifa Hospital, nor underestimate the importance of the figures who were arrested or executed. However, the Resistance and its resilient structure don’t rely on one-man theory,” the source stated

“The Resistance dealt with the current situation and was able to reshape its ranks, given the possibility that the enemy would obtain new information as a result of the investigation of the detainees,” the source added.

“The good conduct, on both levels of battlefield and information, indicates that the Resistance is still fine, and that all the current losses can be absorbed and coexisted with.”
