DFLP Comrade Abu Ashad Martyred in Jenin

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine exalts the martyr comrade As’ad Issam Al-Qunairy, 28 years old, who was martyred today after engaging in an armed confrontation with the occupation forces during their attempt to arrest him this morning, Thursday, in the town of Ya’bad. It is noted that comrade As’ad was wanted by the occupation, which had long imposed restrictions on his family to force him to surrender, a demand he and his fighting family, many of whose members were arrested and pursued, refused.

The Front added in its eulogy that the martyr As’ad, known as “Abu Ashad,” as he preferred to be called, joined the ranks of the Democratic Front since he was a young cub and was active within the Palestinian Democratic Youth Union. He was known for his firmness, courage, and loyalty. He was arrested several times, spending five years in the occupation’s prisons, most of it in administrative detention, and was released a year ago. His deceased father was one of the symbols and leaders of the Front in the town of Ya’bad and Jenin governorate.

As it mourns the martyr comrade As’ad, the Democratic Front extends its deepest condolences and pride to his family, comrades, and the people of Ya’bad Al-Qassam, reaffirming its commitment to continue the struggle against the occupation and its settler gangs and their crimes against our people in the West Bank, as well as to fight and join the ranks of resistance in the Gaza Strip against the genocide war with the rest of the factions through the Omar Al-Qasim Forces.

In concluding its eulogy, the Democratic Front called for enhancing field unity among all resistance formations from all factions and escalating popular resistance in all its forms until we force the occupation and its settlers to leave our Palestinian land and materialize our national rights in complete national independence. This is the path chosen by our people and their resistance.
