The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine described the martyrdom of prisoner Walid Daqqah in the occupation’s prisons, amidst the disgraceful medical neglect he suffered, despite the severity of his illness and the difficult health conditions, as a new “israeli” crime committed by the occupation forces and the “israeli” Prison Service against humanity at large, and not just against the prisoner, his family, and our Palestinian people.
The Democratic Front added: The national leader and martyr Walid Daqqah symbolized in the occupation’s prisons the unity of destiny and path among our people’s arenas of struggle, in both parts of the homeland (48 + 67), and the unity of rights in the face of the common enemy. His martyrdom at this particular time further underscores the futility of desperate attempts to separate the rights of our people and fragment them, making us mere groups each searching for its own fate.
The Democratic Front affirmed that the martyr prisoner Walid Daqqah added a new heroic feat to the experiences of the prisoner movement, presenting our prisoners, as fighters endowed with political and intellectual awareness, and not terrorists, as the Prison Service always attempts to portray them to the public.
The Democratic Front concluded: To our prisoners in “israeli” jails, to the family of the great martyr, and to the fighters in the National Democratic Assembly in Palestine, all sentiments of struggle and the covenant to continue the struggle until our national goals are achieved.
