The Sick Country of the United States of America!

In the Haitian popular language, not all diseases are natural, since, some would have been fabricated, instrumentalized to punish or harm someone, if not to a people, a state or a nation. Is this the case of what we are experiencing in the current situation of the first African country independent of the Americas?

This is the situation of Haiti, a country born of a socio-political revolution, which destroyed relations of colonial and slave domination. It was the triumph of ideals favorable to the freedom of a working people and the development of a new state. Since that epic, the Haitian nation accused by the great powers of the time of being the carrier of a dangerous virus is threatened. In order to safeguard the vital interests of the international ruling classes, it was necessary to prevent this people from infecting other enslaved peoples with its virus of national liberation.

In fact, Francisco de Miranda and Simon Bolivar were not only contaminated but also received this freedom serum in weapons and ammunition to achieve the abolition and liberation of slaves under Spanish domination in Greater Colombia, which gave rise to these three states: Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela.

As for Haiti, it is that great country, which has fallen ill, afflicted by a destructive pandemic on the part of its worst enemies. Since then, it suffers from an epidemic of bad governance and corruption of all kinds that have led the Haitian state into total disarray. The U. S. occupation of 1915 in all its hideousness disoriented the country, which became difficult to govern, in fact impossible to anticipate major trends in order to recognize, at the right time, the opportunities to seize and the risks to prevent. Battalions of incompetent, careless and squanderers of all kinds have always been imposed by outside powers to maintain the status quo. Having become an impoverished, plundered country, the people live in extreme poverty and find it most difficult to find the path to economic development and social peace.

The country has experienced the worst natural and political disasters in its history which, in fact, is the result of abject poverty created by almost two centuries of imperialist domination. The most sadly visible criminal act to which it has been subjected remains chronic political instability, culminating in new and unending socio-economic and security tensions. Those who have always run to his bedside and claim to help him to heal himself are the main thinkers who have set a trap for him. Their foreign medical staff: doctors from the United States, France and Canada have always prescribed only drugs prepared in their laboratories that will certainly lead him to a certain end if there is no antidote. The infectious disease that afflicts Haiti was created by Westerners, these vampires who want to drain all its blood to first destroy its immune system and then prevent it from regaining its energies and qualities of yesteryear.

They also make it impossible for it to do anything, even to come up with new ideas in order to adapt to the present and finally embark on the path of sustainable development and political and economic stability.

Despite international assistance and numerous technical assistance programmes, the situation has worsened. Like a curse, from now on, the capital and some cities of the Haitian province look like fields of ruins. In a state of disrepair, this is how the former slave owners like to contemplate the beauty of Haiti, which was, once, the Pearl of the West Indies. All this expresses the symbolism, cynicism and malice of imperialism towards the country.

Although capitalism has completely failed in Haiti, the enemies of Haiti have just achieved a slight sprinkling to make acceptable to the most naive the destabilizing policy of imperialism. They are preparing to put on the saddle a reform solution with a tailor-made Presidential College. A cosmetic procedure that they have repeatedly imposed, so that the fundamental problems remain intact, unchanged. These nine individuals who make up the Transitional Presidential Council are only recidivists who, in the past, under Washington’s cup, did not dare to transform Haitian society so as to put it back on track.

This new American transition, to which the traditional political class has been invited only to endorse the measure, is only the pure product of imperialism. In truth, it represents no hope for the destitute and oppressed Haitians in the face of this epidemic forged by more than a century of exploitation and oppression.

The fact is, if the word revolution is ringing again at this juncture, it is because many people are beginning to understand that the only way to save the country from its disease is through revolutionary change. In this regard, the task of the workers is to overthrow the entire capitalist system in Haiti and it is to counter this idea, so that it does not evolve, that the imperialist powers try all sorts of acrobatics.

The treatment will take time, but we will emerge victorious at all costs from this epidemic that plagues the country. The only solution is to rely on the disadvantaged masses and it is in this perspective that the struggle of the newspaper Haïti Liberté is inscribed. We will never stop fighting against these laboratories that produce all kinds of diseases against the country. We will never stab the popular resistance as some collaborators with the capitalist powers have done. Our duty is to resist the betrayal of this clique of opportunists with all possible political weapons to rid our country of the evil that gangrene it.
