The Palestinian Resistance has been engaging occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, in what could be described as the fiercest confrontations since the invasion of the southernmost city of Rafah.
In concurrence with an attempted Zionist advance into new sectors of Rafah, the occupation’s military also launched an incursion into Gaza City in the north. Axes of confrontation in al-Sabra and al-Zeitoun neighborhoods, in the center of the city were renewed, following months-long ground attack by occupation forces.
These areas had been supposedly “cleared” by the occupation’s military, however, the Resistance has re-emerged in the neighborhoods and regained operational activities, including rocket launching operations.
The westward advancement of Zionist troops into the al-Zeitoun neighborhood was met with several direct operations conducted by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades. Utilizing rocket-propelled grenades, the faction was able to target armored vehicles in both al-Zeitoun and al-Sabra, which is located to the northwest of the aforementioned town.
Remarkably, the group detonated a pre-set minefield, consisting of large caliber anti-armor explosive devices, targeting a number of occupation military vehicles to the east of al-Zeitoun.
The group also targeted a number of Zionist troops traveling on top of a tank’s current, dealing direct hits to the intended targets, near al-Zeitoun Clinic. Al-Quds Brigades fighters also conducted a series of indirect operations, utilizing mortar rounds and rocket artillery to target occupation forces in Rafah and Gaza.
Al-Qassam Brigades defends Rafah Axis
Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades confronted occupation forces on multiple axes in the southernmost city of Rafah, targeting the occupation military in direct confrontations, shelling their positions, and conducting a well-executed ambush.
According to al-Qassam’s Military Media Unit, Resistance fighters were engaged in operations near al-Dawa Mosque, the Saad Sayel Barracks, and the Abu Halawa area, all located in eastern Rafah.
The fiercest confrontations concentrated in the Saad Sayel Barracks, where al-Qassam fighters lured occupation forces into a minefield that led to confirmed casualties among enemy forces.
Al-Qassam fighters also executed a multifaceted ambush near al-Dawa Mosque, targeting a composite force, consisting of an armored unit and infantry, with several thermobaric RPG rounds and an anti-armor tandem al-Yassin shell. The group confirmed that the ambush dealt with casualties among an armored personnel carrier’s (APC) crewmembers and at least two units located near the APC and a nearby building.
Confrontations are ongoing to this moment, as Military Media Units from multiple Palestinian Resistance factions continue to detail the operations they conducted on Friday.
On Friday afternoon, Zionist media outlets reported that at least five troops were killed on Friday in the Gaza Strip, adding that multiple military helicopters evacuated Zionist casualties from areas of confrontation. Among those killed are reportedly four members of the Nahal Patrol Brigade’s 913th Battalion. The troops were killed as a result of the detonation of an explosive device in al-Zeitoun which also resulted in the injury of two troops.

Hezbollah launches impressive rocket attack
The Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah – launched on Friday at least 35 rockets at the Kiryat Shmona settlement in occupied Northern Palestine, igniting several hillside fires that are still ablaze, triggering a mass evacuation of the settlement, according to occupation media.
The head of the settlement, Avichai Stern, said that 20 rockets landed in the settlement, while the remaining 15 were intercepted by the Iron Dome. As a result, tens of houses, buildings, and vehicles were completely destroyed.
“Unfortunately, this has been the reality for the past even months with no plan to move forward or a timeframe to tell us how much longer we would have to suffer,” he said.
He further slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that what he had stated regarding September 1 as not being a sacred date was very “frustrating and provocative”.
“As of today”, Stern added, “40% of Kiryat Shmona residents refuse to return if schools were not opened on the first of September.”
Kiryat Shmona becomes largest abandoned settlement in occupied North
The Kiryat Shmona settlement in occupied North Palestine has become the largest settlement to be abandoned since October 7, 2023, a report by the Jerusalem Post showed.
The settlement was described as a “ghost town” by the occupation newspaper amid Hezbolla’s continuous military operations targeting northern settlements in support of Gaza and in response to aggression against Lebanon.
According to JP, emergency service workers have all evacuated the settlement, while traffic remains extremely light, prompting the municipality to stop operating traffic signals. Only one supermarket remains open, but it closes its doors at noon. Wolves and wild animals reportedly roam the settlement’s roads at night.
The newspaper emphasized that the majority of settlers who fled Kiryat Shmona have decided not to return, noting that the longer the state of uncertainty regarding escalation with Lebanon persists, the more likely it is for them to permanently relocate.
It was revealed that due to daily rocket launches from Lebanon, the occupation government evacuated 43 settlements located within five kilometers of the Mediterranean Sea to the west, relocating settlers to the Golan Heights to the east, which allegedly led to the “establishment of a security zone inside ‘Israel” along the entire northern border.”
Over 60,000 settlers abandoned the north and are currently staying in hotels, rentals, or with relatives or friends.
Iraqi Resistance continues attacks
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Thursday that its Resistance fighters targeted the Zionist Ovda airbase in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a brief statement, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance asserted responsibility for targeting on Thursday evening the Ovda airbase with drones. That said, the group emphasized its ongoing commitment to dismantling enemy strongholds.
The Resistance affirmed that the operation is part of its ongoing operations in support of Palestine and Gaza. It also stands as a response to the egregious massacres perpetrated by the occupation entity against defenseless Palestinian civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Resistance had targeted the same airbase in April.
Earlier on Thursday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq carried out three operations against occupation targets.
It mentioned in its statement that the Nevatim base in occupied Bir al-Sabe’ was targeted by drones, in addition to striking a vital target in occupied Umm al-Rashrash [Eilat] with drones at dawn.
The Resistance also announced the targeting of the occupied Asqalan port using cruise missiles, confirming that it would continue to destroy enemy strongholds.
