The Press Office of the HPG (People’s Defence Forces) reported that the guerrillas continued their resistance against the Turkish troops trying to advance in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
According to the HPG statement on Friday, the invaders who attempted to advance in Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were stopped by the guerrillas. On the other hand, two soldiers were killed in Metîna and a helicopter was hit from two arms in Avaşîn.
HPG also reported that the occupying Turkish state bombed the guerrillas’ tunnels in Girê FM Resistance Area 8 times using toxic chemical gases and 3 times using banned explosives.
HPG-BIM gave the details of the actions carried out by the guerrillas and the attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army in recent days as follows:
“Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region;
– At 09:00 on 29 May, the invaders who attempted to advance in Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas with heavy weapons and the invaders’ mobility was stopped.
– On 29 May at 06:45, the invaders in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas with medium automatic weapons and 1 position was hit.
– At 09:30 on 29 May, the invaders who attempted to advance in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas using sabotage tactics and the invaders’ mobility was stopped.
Metîna region;
– On 30 May, the invaders in Enîşkê area were struck by the guerrillas with individual weapons and 2 invaders were killed.
Avashîn region;
– On 28 May at 12:30, a helicopter was hit from two sides. The helicopter was forced to move away from the area.
Attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army with banned explosives;
– On 29 May, our tunnels in the Girê FM Resistance Area of the Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region were bombed 8 times with toxic chemical gases and 3 times with banned explosives.
– On 29 May, our tunnels in Girê Cûdî Resistance Area of Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region were bombed 8 times by drones loaded with explosives.
Attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army;
– On 29 and 30 May, Turkish warplanes carried out 14 strikes on guerrilla areas, targeting the Balayan area in the Qendîl region once; the areas of Dêreşê, Deşta Kafya, Gûzê, Zengil in the Garê region 7 times; the Xinêrêya Jor area in the Xakurkê region once; the areas of Serê Metîna, Bêşîlî, Dergelê Resistance Areas in the Metîna region 4 times, the Girê Bahar Resistance Area in the Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region once.
– On 28 and 29 May, Golka and Dergelê Resistance Areas in Metîna region, as well as the areas of Lolan, Kolît and Girê Şehîd Şerîf in Xakurkê region were bombed by attack helicopters.”
