Hezbollah’s Military Media unit released a short biography of martyr Mohammad Nehme Nasser, “Hajj Abu Nehme,” one of the Islamic Resistance’s most prominent commanders, who was assassinated by the Zionist occupation in Tyre on Wednesday.
Born on May 6, 1965, in the southern Lebanese town of Hadatha, martyr Nasser was among the first fighters to join the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, when he officially joined the ranks in 1986 when he was still in his early 20s.
The martyred leader had taken part in several operations, as part of Hezbollah’s struggle to liberate occupied Lebanese towns and villages from the grip of the Zionist military.
In one such operation, Hajj Abu Nehme was one of several fighters who led the infiltration attack on the Zionist military site in Beit Yahoun, a village that neighbors Hadatha near Beit Jbeil.
According to Hezbollah’s Military Media unit, the martyr was wounded several times during the struggle for liberation, which was achieved on May 25, 2000, which ended nearly 18 years of occupation.
The martyr rose up the ranks of Hezbollah’s military wing while engaging in several battles across his nearly 40-year career as a Resistance fighter and leader.
Martyr Mohammad Nasser’s accolades post-liberation
Despite multiple injuries Nasser defends against Zionist
He was also among those who participated in the confrontation of the Zionist war on Lebanon and 2006.
During his participation in Hezbollah’s defense against Salafist organizations in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon’s eastern border, martyr Nasser was yet again wounded on the battlefield in 2015.
The battles on the eastern mountainous range, shared between Lebanon and Syria, were some of the fiercest, due to the complex geographical nature of the region. Hezbollah eventually succeeded in liberating the region from the Salafists in 2017.
Commanding Hezbollah’s Aaziz Unit
In 2016 martyr Mohammad Nasser became the commander of one of Hezbollah’s territorial units, the Aaziz unit.
During his career, the martyr received several military awards from Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, recognizing his excellent work on the battlefields.
In the latest and ongoing confrontation of the occupation, the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, martyr Hajj Abu Nehme commanded and oversaw multiple operations against Zionist military sites, bases, infrastructure, and positions.
Martyrdom, Hezbollah’s response
He was martyred alongside his assistant on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in al-Haouch area in southwest Tyre.
The assassination of martyr Hajj Abu Nehme is the third instance in which occupation forces assassinated a top commander in the Islamic Resistance. Martyr Nasser succeeds his fallen comrades and fellow commanders, leader Wissam Hassan Tawil and the commander of Hezbollah’s Nasr Unit Talib Sami Abdallah.
As Lebanon prepares to commemorate the lives of another great resistance fighter and leader, Hezbollah’s fighters launched four operations in response to the assassination of Hajj Abu Nehme, with more expected to come in the following hours or days.

With great pride and honor, the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, exalt the martyrdom of the leader in the Islamic Resistance, Hezbollah, Mohammed Ni’ma Nasser / Haj Abu Ni’ma.
He was targeted by zionist missiles of treachery today in the Sour region of southern Lebanon after fulfilling his duty of struggle and resistance for the Lebanese and Palestinian people and the Arab nation in defending Lebanon and Palestine and supporting the oppressed against the continuous zionist aggression against our nation.
This treacherous targeting of the martyr leader Abu Ni’ma and those who preceded him and those who will follow will only increase our determination and steadfastness in continuing the path of the martyrs in struggle and combat until the liberation of all our Palestinian national land, the restoration of all our usurped rights, and the recovery of the occupied Arab lands in Lebanon and Syria.

Our vow is an eternal revenge that will not fade.
Glory to the martyrs, freedom to the prisoners, and healing to the wounded.

Hezbollah retaliates
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah has launched a series of strikes against Zionist targets in occupied territories, in response to the Zionist strike on the coastal city of Tyre in South Lebanon.
Although the Resistance launched four near-simultaneous attacks on Zionist sites and positions, located near the line of withdrawal from South Lebanon, these attacks did not come in direct response to the assassination of the Resistance leader.
Instead, the Resistance launched yet another series of attacks that struck positions deeper within the occupied territories.
Hezbollah fires 100 rocket barrage on Golan sites
The first announced attack saw the Resistance fire 100 Grad-type rockets on occupied sites in the Golan. The barrage of rocket artillery shells targeted the 210th Bashan Territorial Division’s headquarters in the Nafah Barracks and the Air Defense Command Northern Regiment and Air Force section in the Kela Barracks.
The 210th Territorial Division commands six brigades, a signals battalion, a field intelligence battalion, and a combat engineering company, which are responsible for the front with Syria via the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Zionist social media accounts and media outlets captured footage of smoke billowing in the Golan after multiple Hezbollah rockets impacted the area.
It is worth noting that the Nafah and Kela bases are nearly 13 km apart, while the Nafah Barracks is 23.5 km away from the nearest point on the line of withdrawal from South Lebanon.
Hezbollah fighters also barraged the 769th Hiram Territorial Brigade’s headquarters in Kiryat Shomna Barracks, with a barrage of larger caliber Falaq rocket artillery shells.
The Resistance also renewed its rocket attack on the Kela Barracks, this time targeting the nearby infantry section of the base, which faced a barrage of dozens of Grad-type rockets at 6:43 pm (local time).
Simultaneously, the Resistance fired heavy-caliber Burkan rockets, which can carry warheads that weigh up to 500 kg, at the Zionist Zar’it Barracks.
Warning sirens rang across settlements from the Western Upper al-Jalil to the al-Jalili Pandhandle and in the occupied Golan on several occasions on Wednesday.
Hezbollah also executed several other attacks, in line with its continued support to the Palestinian people.
This includes shelling al-Raheb military site with artillery shells and the destruction of Zionist hardware installed in the Birket Risha military site.
The attack on the Nafah base is among the deepest attacks conducted by the Resistance since October 8, 2023. The attack also marks one of seven rocket barrages fired at the base, the first of which was launched on February 26.
