After approving a $20 billion arms deal for “israel”: Blinken is in the region to cover Netanyahu’s intransigence and pressure the resistance to accept “israel’s” conditions for a ceasefire.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting the region as a heavy-handed presence to play his role in pushing through the problematic ceasefire deal. His visit aims to provide political cover for the “israeli” fascist government headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and to urge Arab mediators to exert pressure on the resistance, represented by Hamas, to submit to Netanyahu’s conditions. These conditions would sustain the occupation and expand the daily bloody war against our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The Democratic Front pointed out that Blinken, just days before his visit to the region, signed off on a new arms deal with the occupying state worth $20 billion as the U.S. Secretary of State. This deal includes 50 F-15 aircraft, 33,000 tank shells valued at $774 million, 50,000 mortar shells, military trucks, as well as radars and “secure” communication equipment.
The Democratic Front added that this arms deal, along with the naval and air mobilization in the Eastern Mediterranean by the U.S. and its NATO allies, comes at a time when the number of Palestinian martyrs in Gaza alone has reached 40,000 since October 7, 2023. This figure does not include the thousands of martyrs whose bodies remain under the rubble, alongside more than 90,000 wounded, most of whom are women, children, and the elderly.
The Democratic Front stated that since Blinken’s first visit following the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, his trips to the region have consistently ended with wide-scale “israeli” bloodshed that claims the lives of hundreds of martyrs, disregarding global or local public opinion. This occurs amid disgraceful Arab silence, which has escalated in some Arab capitals to the point of supplying “israel” with weapons, ammunition, vegetables, fruits, and other foodstuffs, reflecting the reality of the alliance between Israel and some Arab states against our people, their cause, and their rights. These facts cannot be concealed by occasional false statements.
The Democratic Front concluded by saying that the American administration’s plans, which have turned our people’s cause into an electoral card to renew the Democratic Party’s term, will not succeed in tipping the balance towards aggression and genocide. The steadfastness and resilience of the resistance will prevail until the occupation acknowledges the failure of its war, departs from our land, and leaves our skies.
