The Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Resistance movement, and the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility for the martyrdom operation in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
In a joint statement, the Resistance factions said martyrdom operations in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories will return to the forefront so long as occupation’s massacres, displacement of civilians, and assassinations are ongoing.
Such martyrdom operations had not been employed by the Palestinian Resistance for years.
The announcement comes after occupation police and the Shin Bet said the explosion in Tel Aviv was an attack carried out by the Palestinian Resistance, in which an improvised explosive device was detonated.
According to the Times of ‘Israel,’ the Shin Bet was still trying to identify the Resistance fighter who carried out the operation.
In turn, the Zionist Kan newspaper claimed the operative was from Nablus, West Bank, while the Intel Times reported Israeli concerns that the fighter was not operating on his own.
Meanwhile, Yediot Ahronoth said the occupation’s security apparatus “feared turning the West Bank into a war zone,” adding that Hamas was recruiting and funding tens of brigades to carry out stronger attacks, while using explosive devices and trying to manufacture rockets.
A powerful explosion in Tel Aviv Sunday evening claimed the life of one individual, as occupation authorities confirmed that the blast was caused by an explosive device placed on the truck.
The incident, which occurred in a busy area of the city, has prompted an extensive investigation by the police, who are exploring all potential motives behind the attack, including it being a Resistance operation.

The martyrdom operation in “Tel Aviv” marks the beginning of a new and significant phase in striking at the zionist arrogance and tyranny that kills and slaughters women, children, and infants, and carries out a war of genocide against all aspects of life in Gaza and other Palestinian cities.

The announcement by Al-Qassam Brigades and Saraya Al-Quds claiming responsibility for yesterday’s martyrdom operation in the heart of the so-called “Tel Aviv” comes at a sensitive time, amid intense anticipation by the occupation for a response from the Axis of Resistance to the assassination of the martyrs Haniyeh and Shukr.
Such an operation, which is a clear targeting of the zionist security apparatus in a place the enemy considers the most secure and safe, is a deadly blow to the side of the entity that was expecting punishment from outside, only to find it coming from the heart of its capital.
The quick announcement of the operation confirms that there will be more to follow and that it is not an individual act, but rather an organized and well-planned action with many dimensions.
This welcome return of such operations brings good tidings to our people and signals existential anxiety for the occupation, as personal security for everyone within the entity is now in question. Many questions are being raised: How did the executor reach this place? How did he move around without being detected? When did he arrive at the location? Was he there hours or days before the operation? Does he have other partners in the same area? Who brought him there? And other such questions.
It is certain that such operations are not individual acts, as the occupation has previously suffered from the fires of such operations. Such operations are a major disaster for the entity, and if the executor is from our people in the West Bank, it has great symbolism that the West Bank continues to prepare and equip to deter this occupation despite the continuous persecution by the occupation and the [Palestinian] Authority. The West Bank is considered the most dangerous for the occupation because it overlaps with a large number of settlements.
This operation comes to tell the occupation that any escalation, intransigence, and pressure on the resistance will be met with a new kind of confrontation and a new form that the entire entity will pay for, due to its stubbornness and escalation against our people and their resistance.
