A field officer in the operations room of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, revealed, in a statement published by the Military Media, that at approximately 10:20 pm on Friday, the freedom fighters of Hezbollah along the Odaisseh confrontation front monitored an unusual movement of Zionist occupation forces near border number 405 on the outskirts of the town of Odaisseh.
The statement further noted that around 10:45 pm, an elite occupation unit infiltrated through an advance path toward the vicinity of the Odaisseh municipality building.
By approximately 11:00 pm, according to the statement, the infiltrating occupation force reached a pre-prepared ambush point. With a call of “Labaika Ya Nasrallah [O Nasrallah],” the Resistance opened fire using light and medium machine guns at the infiltrating force, resulting in the explosion of mines in the occupation forces invading unit which had been intended to be used, by the occupation, to booby-trap the municipality building.
This engagement led to the death and injury of about 15 soldiers, and “their screams were clearly heard.”
Hostile rescue teams, shielded by fire from occupation military helicopters, worked to evacuate the dead and wounded back to the occupied territories.
Moreover, the statement noted that at about 01:50 am on Saturday, another hostile force attempted to infiltrate through a different route toward the Odaisseh municipality building. The Islamic Resistance, however, reportedly confronted them with machine guns and missiles, and the clashes lasted more than two hours, during which the occupation forces sustained losses and was forced to retreat.
At 07:00 am on Saturday morning, an occupation Merkava tank attempted to advance through a concealed back path toward the al-Bat hill on the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras, the field officer explained. The Resistance then targeted it with a guided missile, resulting in its destruction and the killing and wounding of its crew.
The Islamic Resistance’s fire support groups continue to target occupation soldiers in their barracks, military positions, and settlements near the Lebanese border with artillery shells, missiles, and heavy machine guns, achieving direct hits. Additionally, the missile force of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has continued to bombard various targets deep in northern occupied Palestine with heavy missile barrages.
Furthermore, the statement reported that the air force of the Islamic Resistance has also been active, targeting occupation forces’ military bases and barracks in northern occupied Palestine with swarms of attack drones.
The statement then read that “Over the past few days, since the Zionist army announced the start of its ground operation toward the villages of southern Lebanon, the Islamic Resistance has recorded more than 25 officers and soldiers killed among the ranks of the enemy elite, with over 130 wounded,” adding that “The enemy has admitted to some of these figures, and the coming days will reveal more about what it has concealed from its public.”
Hezbollah calls fake news reports from AFP ‘psychological warfare’
In a statement released by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon’s media relations office, earlier on Saturday, it was revealed that news concerning the fate of Hezbollah officials coming from Western media sources is false.
According to the statement, some media outlets are “publishing news attributed to sources within Hezbollah regarding the fate of Hezbollah officials following the brutal airstrikes on the southern suburbs,” in particular calling out Agence France-Presse (AFP), which as per the statement, “attributed its reports to high-ranking Hezbollah sources.”
The statement clarifies and stresses that “there are no such sources within Hezbollah, and our position is always published in an official statement by Hezbollah’s media relations.”
The office also called the fake news and baseless rumors regarding the organization status of several senior members befitting of “psychological warfare” aimed at undermining the resistance’s supporters by “those who have devoted their pens, tongues, and platforms to serving the Zionist occupation.”
Earlier on Saturday, AFP posted a report that claimed that “another source close to Hezbollah previously told AFP that the deeply religious cleric Safieddine, who has family ties to Nasrallah and good relations with its backer Iran, was the ‘most likely’ candidate for the party’s top job.”
In addition, the agency claimed that the same source reported that “Contact with Sayyed Safieddine has been lost since the violent strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs.”
