DFLP Calls for Resistance Against Al-Aqsa Mosque Desecration

We call on our people and their national and Islamic forces, especially in the ’48 territories, to make their way to Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to thwart the plans of the so-called ‘Temple Organizations’ to storm it on May 15th.
We affirm that the calls for storming the mosque, accompanied by flag marches, provocations, and attacks on Jerusalemites and their properties, come in the context of an Israeli escalation aimed at changing the historical and legal reality of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
We warn that the occupation’s plan for the Al-Aqsa Mosque aims to impose a temporal and spatial division, similar to what happened in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, as part of a broader policy to resolve the conflict with our people by force.
We believe that the escalation in Jerusalem is not isolated from the crimes of the occupation and its settlers in the Palestinian West Bank, including killings, destruction, land confiscation, settlement expansion, and forced displacement, which serve the project of annexing the West Bank openly and systematically.
We condemn the continuous attacks on Jerusalemites, Muslims and Christians, the latest of which was the attack on a nun in Jerusalem, and preventing Palestinian Christians from reaching the Church of the Holy Sepulchre during Easter, exposing the false claims of the occupation about freedom of worship.
We affirm that confronting these plans requires uniting the Palestinian ranks, ending the division, and unleashing the energies of our people at home and in the diaspora to protect the national project and continue the struggle until victory is achieved.
