Two soldiers of the Philippines’ government army, an officer and a first class soldier, were killed after an exchange of fire on Thursday, August 18, with communist NPA fighters in the province of Apayao.
The soldiers participated in a counter-guerrilla patrol when their group came up against a column of around thirty guerrillas in Barangay Lenneng.
