Ansarallah Solidarity Actions Halt Major Trade Through Red Sea

The Yemeni Armed Forces, Ansarallah, announced that their Naval forces carried out a military operation against the Maersk Gibraltar cargo ship, which was en route to the Zionist occupation entity.

In a statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed that the ship was targeted with a drone, adding that a direct hit was confirmed after the Maersk Gibraltar’s crew refused to respond to warning calls from the Yemeni Naval Forces. The company claimed that the ship was not impacted by the attack.

“Following the near-miss incident involving Maersk Gibraltar yesterday and yet another attack on a container vessel today, we have instructed all Maersk vessels in the area bound to pass through the Bab al-Mandab Strait to pause their journey until further notice,” a company’s spokesperson was quoted as saying by Sky News.

The Ansarallah statement reads:

A victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people, who are currently being subjected to killing, destruction, and siege in the Gaza Strip, and in implementation of the directives of Commander Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may God protect him, and in response to the calls of the free people of our great Yemeni people and the people of our nation.

The Yemeni Armed Forces’ Air Force, with the help of God Almighty, carried out a military operation against sensitive targets in the Umm al-Rashrash area in southern occupied Palestine with a large batch of drones.

The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm the continuation of their military operations against the Zionist entity until its aggression against our steadfast brothers in the Gaza Strip stops.

The Yemeni Armed Forces also call on all the free people of the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world to take honorable positions towards the Palestinian issue and to support and support its free resistance.

The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree publicly announced Friday that the Yemeni Naval Forces targeted the MSC Alanya and the MSC PALATIUM III with anti-ship missiles, dealing direct hits to the two vessels, having refused to heed Yemeni warnings in support of the oppressed Palestinian people, who are currently being subjected to massacres, destruction, and a siege in the Gaza Strip, in implementation of the directives of Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and in response to the calls of the Yemeni people.

The Brigadier General emphasized that all vessels, heading to the Israeli occupation’s ports, will continue to be targeted, until “Israel” lifts its blockade on Gaza and allows for the passage of necessities into the Strip, including food and medical supplies.

This is happening as the matter got worse for the Zionist occupation after the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced a new equation following a US veto on a ceasefire in Gaza at the UNSC meeting, which added ships heading to “Israel”, regardless of their nationality, to the ban, and expanding its scope to the Arabian Sea, as well the Red Sea.

This comes alongside other attacks claimed by Yemen against Zionist targets, including the launch of long-range cruise missiles and drones on several occasions, as well as ballistic missiles at “Eilat” located in the southernmost region of occupied Palestine.

In a statement, the Air Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces said it “carried out, with the help of Allah, a military operation using a significant number of drones on sensitive targets in Um Al-Rashrash area, south of occupied Palestine.”

The statement referred to the Palestinian name of the occupied city, Um Al-Rashrash.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm the continuation of their military operations against the Zionist entity until its aggression against our steadfast brothers in Gaza ceases,” the statement added.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have been stepping up attacks against Zionist targets in both occupied territories and elsewhere in the region.

Since the start of the aggression, dozens of drones and ballistic missiles have been fired from Yemen towards targets in the Palestinian occupied territories.

Several major shipping companies have also suspended operations in the Red Sea, citing concerns about security and potential disruptions.

MSC, the world’s largest shipping company, announced a temporary halt to Red Sea shipments in response to Yemeni military activities targeting vessels bound for a specific port.

This decision follows similar suspensions by Maersk and CMA CGM, two other leading global shipping firms, within the past day.

The disruption also comes after the largest Israeli shipping company, ZIM, halted its Red Sea operations two weeks ago.

Combined, these four companies represent a significant portion of the global container shipping market, with a fleet of 2,197 ships and estimated annual revenue of approximately $150 billion.

This is a significant victory for the resistance and puts pressure on global imperialism.
