Resistance Strikes Down Tens of Zionist Soldiers Across Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Resistance continued to confront Zionist occupation forces across the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring multiple soldiers.

Fighters from several Resistance factions conducted exemplary operations that have cost the occupation’s military a lot, including heavy casualties, throughout its ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. In December, the occupation expanded its invasion to encompass multiple axes into the central and southern districts of the Gaza Strip.

Even though the Zionist military command pushed a total of seven battalions into Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, it still maintains activity in Gaza City, to the north, specifically in al-Tuffah and al-Daraj neighborhoods. Yet, the Resistance has managed to relentlessly confront occupation forces, devising ingenious and effective ambushes.

List of January 1, 2024 Operations

Al-Qassam Brigades

Gaza City

On this point, Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades announced at around 7:00 pm (local time) that its fighters targeted a total of 26 military vehicles, in the last 48 hours, in al-Tuffah and al-Daraj. Just recently, the Brigades’ units reported that they had targeted five occupation vehicles located to the east of al-Tuffah.

The Brigades also launched an attack on a grouping of occupation forces serving under an armored unit. Fighters launched imported tandem rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and anti-personnel explosives, confirming casualties among enemy forces.

A sapper unit also set up explosives near the entrance of a tunnel to the east of al-Tuffah, killing and injuring a number of Zionist special forces who had approached the booby-trapped tunnel on Monday.  The Brigades also targeted an infantry force that had taken cover in a building in the neighborhood with a locally produced thermobaric RPG, killing and injuring members of the force.

The most significant operation in al-Tuffah was an ambush that targeted an elite Zionist force that had made its way to al-Khalil military site in the area. The Brigades’ military media reported that its combat engineers set up a minefield in one of the paths leading to the site, detonating as the elite force reached an optimal position, killing at least 15 soldiers. Multiple Zionist helicopters and rescue teams rushed to the scene of the ambush to transport the killed and wounded soldiers from the site.

The Brigades artillery units also launched a rocket attack on occupation forces positioned to the east of the neighborhood, highlighting the multiplicity of military options that the Resistance holds.

Central Gaza Strip

To the south of Gaza City, in al-Bureij refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip, an al-Qassam sniper shot dead an occupation soldier stationed to the east of the camp.

Khan Younis

In Khan Younis, the Brigades targeted three enemy soldiers with an anti-personnel charge to the north of the city. Another group of fighters detonated a booby-trapped tunnel entrance into an occupation infantry force in al-Qararah to the north of the city of Khan Younis. Sapper units also detonated an explosive-laden building, killing a number of soldiers who had entered it in the same area.

Al-Quds Brigades

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades also announced a number of operations across the axes of confrontations throughout the Gaza Strip. In al-Bureij in the central Gaza Strip, the Brigades targeted a Zionist armored personnel carrier with an imported tandem RPG, while another unit targeted a Zionist D9 armored bulldozer with an RPG.

They also engaged occupation forces, in al-Tuffah, targeting two military vehicles with RPGs on Monday afternoon. To the east of the neighborhood, the Birgades targeted a D9 armored bulldozer with a tandem RPG.

PFLP, DFLP

Among the Brigades confronting the occupation are the Popular and Democratic Fronts for the Liberation of Palestine, PFLP and DFLP respectively.

The DFLP’s National Resistance Brigades announced that one of its snipers shot down occupation soldiers near the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City. The

On the other hand, the PFLP’s Abu Ali Moustapha Brigades announced that its anti-air units targeted an Apache helicopter with an SA-7 man-portable shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile, to the east of Gaza City.

Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades

In parallel to direct attacks launched by other units and factions of the Palestinian Resistance, al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades’ mortar units targeted occupation forces in the city of Khan Younis, firing concentrated amounts of 120mm mortar shells at the intended targets.

Al-Mujahideen Brigades

Al-Mujahideen Brigades announced that its anti-air unit targeted a Zionist military unmanned aerial vehicle with an SA-7 missile, confirming a direct hit, to the east of al-Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City.

The Brigades also announced a notable operation, targeting occupation forces positioned to the east of Khan Younis with barrages of mortar shells, confirming that Zionist helicopters rushed to the site to evacuate casualties.

Zionist media reports on casualties

The occupation’s military spokesperson announced the death of one reservist in the northern Gaza Strip, amid relative quiet among authorities regarding the alarming events in al-Tuffah. On the other hand, Zionist media outlets reported on the killing of the reservist while also mentioning that two others were severely injured in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli outlets added that 11 soldiers were also injured alongside the killed soldier, however, they said that the casualties were recorded in Beit Hanoun to the northwest of the Gaza Strip. The accuracy of these reports remains questionable, as the Resistance has not announced any operation in Beit Hanoun on January 1, 2024. The total number of injured individuals reached 17, according to Zionist media, as the occupation’s military command continues to impose a blackout on the casualties it suffers during its aggressions.
