With hearts wrung by grief and pain, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine mourns, on behalf of the General Secretary, the Deputy General Secretary, the Political Bureau, the Central Committee, and all its cadres and fighters, the great Palestinian, Arab, and international fighter, comrade Mohammad Hussein Al-Issa “Abu Khalil the Politician,” one of the most prominent leaders in political relations with Arab and international liberation forces, who passed away yesterday, Friday, 09/02/2024, in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Tears are in our eyes as we bid farewell to the oak of Palestine, this towering national figure, this knight who spent six and a half decades of struggle and resistance since joining the Arab Nationalists Movement and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine from its inception, and took on numerous leadership and organizational roles, especially his fundamental role in building political relations with friendly progressive forces globally through his membership in the General Central Committee of the Popular Front and the Central Political Relations Department and the International Relations Office over many long decades until the last moment of his life.

We bid you farewell as our brave Palestinian people inscribe the most magnificent pages of glory in the epic Al-Aqsa Flood saga, which history will record generation after generation.

As we bid you farewell, comrade leader Mohammad Hussein Al-Issa “Abu Khalil,” we pledge to you that we will continue the path of struggle and resistance until the liberation of every atom of Palestinian soil, a goal and dream you clung to and refused to compromise on until the last moment of your life.

We pledge to continue the path until the full realization of the lofty goals and principles for which you fought and died.

As the Popular Front extends its deepest condolences to his family, comrades, and friends, it reaffirms its commitment to continue the path of struggle and resistance until the occupation is defeated, the full Palestinian soil is reclaimed, and the independent state is established with its capital in Al-Quds.
