A joint operation of the Border Police, Shin Bet, and the occupation army in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus led to the capture of Omar al-Fayed, a senior member of Hamas’ armed wing, al Qassam Brigades, in Jenin in the early hours of Tuesday, February 13th.
Occupation military sources claim Fayed was involved in multiple recent shooting attacks against soldiers and planned to carry out additional attacks.
Two Border Police officers were wounded by shrapnel during the operation and evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
The Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) reported that its fighters engaged in armed clashes with Zionist forces that stormed Jenin camp.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades of the Fatah movement reported that its fighters engaged in fierce clashes with the invading occupation forces in Jenin and its camp in several areas with machine guns and explosive devices.
The Al-Asifah Brigades of the Fatah al-Intifada movement also reported its forces engaged in fierce clashes using machine guns and explosive devices against occupation troops on the axes of advance in the city of Jenin and its camp.
The Shin Bet and Border Police claimed to detain 18 Palestinians during operations overnight throughout the West Bank.
Reuters interviewed Walid Irshid, whose son Hamza was detained during the Jenin invasion. Irshid said Israeli forces began firing bullets and surrounded the house at 5 am. They asked who was in the house, and he stated he had four sons and called for them to come out. Hamza, who was wanted by the occupation, tried to flee and hide but was detained after dogs were used to locate him. Zionist forces then fired a missile at the Irshid house, lighting much of it on fire, before leaving.
According to occupation military sources, seven wanted Palestinian resistance fighters were detained in Qalqilya. During the operation, one suspect attempted to run over the soldiers and was shot and killed.
Two wanted Palestinians were arrested in Silwad.
During a nine-hour operation in Al-Ram, dozens of Palestinians were detained and interrogated, eight wanted persons were arrested, and weapons and military equipment were confiscated.
Since the beginning of the war on 7 October, Zionist forces have killed 392 Palestinians, including 100 children, in the occupied West Bank.
According to a joint statement issued last week by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society, over 7000 Palestinians have been detained in the occupied West Bank by Israeli forces since the start of the war.
This includes 220 women, including those abducted in the occupied interior, and 440 children.
53 journalists have been abducted, 36 of whom remain imprisoned, and 21 of which are in administrative detention without charge or trial.
3,490 administrative detention orders were given after October 7th.
These abduction campaigns have been accompanied by criminal acts at the hands of the zionist state, including abuse, beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, as well as destruction of homes, confiscation of vehicles, money, and jewelry. While carrying out arrests, the occupation often destroys infrastructure particularly in Tulkarem and Jenin.
In addition, the occupation carried out field executions during these campaigns, including of members of the detainees’ families.
At least eight Palestinians were martyred in the occupation prisons after October 7:
– Omar Daraghmeh from Tubas,
– Arafat Hamdan from Ramallah,
– Majid Zaqoul from Gaza,
– A fourth martyr whose identity is unknown,
– Abdulrahman Mar’i from Salfit,
– Thaer Abu Asab from Qalqilya
– Abdulrahman Al-Bahsh from Nablus,
– Mohammed Al-Sabbar from Al-Khalil.
Several others have been martyred following detention from Gaza, including in the “Sde Teman” prisoner camp in occupied Bir Al-Sabi’ or by field execution.
The total number of prisoners in the zionist prisons is over 9,000, including 3,484 administrative detainees.
After resistance fighters prepared to confront zionist forces who were attempting to invade at the Tayaseer checkpoint, Tubas, the Security Forces of the Palestinian Authority began firing at a vehicle with Resistance forces.
The traitorous forces pursued the Resistance and violent clashes have erupted between the two as a result of the attempted assassinations. The confrontations were ongoing and relentless with Security Forces shooting indiscriminately at rooftops, windows, and any vehicle in sight.
This comes just a day after clashes broke out with the PA Security Forces in Jenin after they abducted wanted (by the occupation) Resistance fighters. They proceeded to violently suppress a protest in support of Gaza later, meeting local resistance.
