Yemeni Forces Target US Warships, Tankers in Gulf of Aden, Red Sea

The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF), Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced Sunday that the YAF Navy targeted the American oil tanker TORM THOR in the Gulf of Aden with a number of anti-ship missiles.

In a televised statement, Saree added that the YAF also targeted several American warships in the Red Sea with several drones.

He stressed that these operations come in support of the Palestinian people, who are still facing Zionist aggression and siege, and in response to the US and British aggression on Yemen.

Saree reiterated that the YAF’s military operations will not cease until the aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade imposed on the Palestinian people in the Strip is lifted.

The spokesperson underlined that the YAF will confront the American-British escalation against Yemen with more top-tier operations in the Red and Arabian seas to defend the country, its people, and its nation.

It is noteworthy that the operations of the YAF against the Zionist entity and ships bound for the occupation entity– carried out in support of the people of Gaza until the aggression on the Strip ceases — have forced some companies to take alternative routes including a two-week detour around the tip of southern Africa.

The YAF have also reiterated that they only chose clear and specific targets to hit the Zionist enemy until the American and British forces became involved in the aggression against Yemen, which turned them into targets as well, reiterating that no other countries are being targeted by the YAF.

Shortly after Saree’s statement, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced it received a report about an incident 70 nautical miles east of the port of Djibouti.

The YAF statement reads:

In response to the calls of our great Yemeni people to support of the plight of the Palestinian people, and as part of the response to the American-British aggression on our country:

The naval forces in the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the help of Allah Almighty, carried out a qualitative military operation targeting the American oil tanker “TORM THOR” in the Gulf of Aden with a number of appropriate naval missiles. Meanwhile, the drone air force targeted a number of American warships in the Red Sea with several drones.

The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm that they will confront the American-British escalation with more qualitative military operations against all hostile targets in the Red and Arabian Seas in defense of our country, our people, and our nation.

The Yemeni Armed Forces, along with all the great Yemeni people, continue to carry out their religious, moral, and humanitarian duties towards the Palestinian people, and their military operations will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted.

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs, the best Master and the best Helper.

Long live Yemen, free, dignified, and independent.
Victory to Yemen and to all the free people of the nation.

The United States and the United Kingdom’s militaries launched yet another aggression on Yemeni territories, targeting the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

The US-UK-launched strikes targeted the Nahdayn and Attan mountains to the south of the Yemeni capital, as well as military maintenance centers to the north of the capital.

Three airstrikes also targeted a factory next to the Technical Institute in Hay al-Nahda, resulting in a fire and damage to the factory.

Yemeni media also reported that the aggression targeted the al-Dailami air base, north of the capital, Sanaa.

The strikes coincided with heavy flights of American and British fighter jets and aircraft over the Yemeni capital.

Two strikes targeted farmland in the province of al-Jar in the western Aabs governorate, while five raids were launched on the provinces of Bani Hashish and Hadman in the Sanaa Governorate. In Taiz, strikes targeted telecommunication networks in Haifan and Muqbanah.

He also reported that 22 joint American-British aggression airstrikes targeted the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and the provinces of Hajjah and Taiz.

Meanwhile, US and British forces carried out Saturday a fresh wave of strikes against 18 targets across eight locations in Yemen, a joint statement said.

It was co-signed by Australia, Bahrain, Denmark, Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand, who gave unspecified “support” to the new round of strikes.

Sanaa Minister promises surprises if aggression on Gaza is not ended

The Minister of Information in the Sanaa government, Daifallah al-Shami, stated that if the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip is not stopped, Sanaa will take “escalatory steps”, promising “new surprises”.

The Yemeni Minister reiterated that the continuation of the war on Gaza and the failure to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip corresponds to the continuation of the Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian seas.

Furthermore, the Yemeni official explained that stopping the aggression on the Gaza Strip also means that Zionist forces halt all “airstrikes, assassination [attempts], and targeting,” as well as ensuring the delivery of “aid to the Strip.”

Al-Shami underlined that the United States military is “surprised and astonished” by the capabilities that the Yemeni Armed Forces possess.

“The Yemeni people are united today under a major cause, and the enemy fears the societal and popular convergence among the components of the Yemeni people,” noting an attempt by “a group of mercenaries to fish in troubled waters and distort Sanaa’s role in supporting Gaza.”

He further stated that Yemenis witnessed major reconciliations among themselves, which occurred as a result of Sanaa’s historic stance towards the Palestinian cause.
