From his cell in Hüseyin Uzundağ, held in a high-security prison since 2002, has published a long poem dedicated to several leaders of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) who died in clashes with Indian security forces. He pays tribute to Basavaraj (Nambala Keshava Rao), General Secretary of the CPI (Maoist), killed on May 21, 2025, along with 27 other members of the movement, as well as to Hidma, commander of the People’s Liberation Army, and Renuka, a Maoist activist, both killed in 2025. Entitled “Farewell to the Tigers of Gundekot,” the text celebrates the people’s war in India and the figures of the fighters from the Adivasi communities, the indigenous population of central India.
