Aged 73 and secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Ahmad Sa’adat’s health is deteriorating in detention. Imprisoned in Ramon then in Megiddo, he is regularly kept in solitary confinement, deprived of family visits since October 2023 and subjected to transfers during which he was handcuffed, shackled and physically attacked according to testimonies reported by his supporters. His conditions of detention have deteriorated significantly: food shortages, insufficient access to water, unsuitable clothing and lack of appropriate medical monitoring have led to significant weight loss and a worsening of his health problems. His supporters denounce these measures and demand immediate access to appropriate care.
