Panic Amongst the Collaborator Leaders

As the Cairo negotiations continue, one of the issues that has reportedly been settled is the presence of armed collaborator militias operating east of the “Yellow Line.” In light of leaked news that an agreement has been reached whereby the collaborator posts are to be dismantled and the militias disarmed, Ghassan al-Dahini and Shawqi Abu Nasira, the leaders of the self-styled “Popular Forces” and “Popular Army,” respectively, have taken to social media in recent days, pleading with US President Donald Trump and Egyptian officials to intervene to protect them and offer them amnesty. Seeking to issue a message of reassurance, al-Dahini has also taken to Facebook to insist that his Popular Forces will administer “New Gaza” as the “security component” of “the day after.”’

According to a new article by the resistance-aligned platform, “Pursuit of the Fifth Column,” there has been a “consensus reached in Cairo to disarm the militias in eastern Gaza and allow the entry of international forces and a technocratic committee,” prompting “these gangs into a cycle of betrayal and internal purges after they realized—too late—that they were merely pawns who had been used [by the occupation].”
